Makeup Tips for Trans Women Part 8 - Skin Care

The number one thing everyone who wears makeup need to know is that it is imperative that you you take care of your skin!!! This means you should follow a few simple steps:

First always wash your makeup before you go to bed. Leaving make up on is bad for you skin for a number of reasons but the one that should stick out is that this can lead to blocked pores and no one likes that! Blackheads are gross!!! I suggest you get a decent facial soap such as Johnson and Johnson's Purpose as it doesn't burn your eyes! You may want some eye makeup remover (especially if you use waterproof makeup).

The second main bit of advice I can give is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Not only does it feel great but it also helps to keep your skin looking healthy and young (and helps to make you make up look better). I personally use Philosophy's Hope in a Jar but there are a large number of great moisturizes out there.

The last point is to protect your skin and lips with some level of SPF (even in the winter). Know that you aren't limited to wearing sun screen on your face everyday. There are moisturizers and even foundations that has SPF in them, you just need to look around. I for one always have chap stick on and the one I use has SPF in it.

Here are some of the products I recommend:
